Jason Smith

Chief Executive Officer

Jason Smith is a highly regarded technology entrepreneur with more than 20 years’ experience building and leading companies in North America. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Solidifi, a provider of collateral valuation, risk management and data solutions to the global financial services industry.

As a director and executive of Basis100 he built the company from a handful of employees into one of the largest publicly traded technology providers to the mortgage banking industry worldwide. Basis100 was subsequently sold in 2004.

A leader in his community, Jason is a director of several corporations and is the former Chairman of Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation.


Bill Herman

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Herman has more than 20 years of experience in finance and accounting, and a proven track record of leadership in a public company environment. Mr. Herman joined Real Matters as Chief Accounting Officer in September 2016.

Prior to joining Real Matters, Mr. Herman was Executive Vice President and Interim Chief Financial Officer at Progressive Waste Solutions, a multi-billion dollar North American full-service waste management company, where he held various progressively senior management positions from 2002 to 2016. Prior to Progressive Waste, Mr. Herman held various positions with Deloitte & Touche LLP. Mr. Herman is a Chartered Professional Accountant and has an M.B.A. from York University’s Schulich School of Business. He also holds a Diploma in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Loren Cooke

Loren Cooke


Loren has full executive oversight of Solidifi’s business operations in North America including appraisal management, quality control, sales, and client services. Since joining Solidifi in 2008, Loren’s leadership has been instrumental in the company’s steady growth and ascension to becoming a leading independent provider of residential real estate appraisals.

His career includes more than 18 years of successful promotion and deployment of business solutions to the financial services sector with a focus on real estate valuation, mortgage and loan origination technologies, as well as data management.

Prior to Solidifi, Loren held senior management positions at Davis & Henderson and Equifax.

Andrew Bough

Executive Vice President, Valuations

Andrew Bough’s experience spans more than 25 years in the U.S. valuations industry. Prior to joining Solidifi in 2018, he was Managing Director of Valuation at JP Morgan Chase. A certified appraiser since 1993, Mr. Bough has held various executive roles with regulated lenders in the United States, including leading valuations operations, and managing collateral risk for retail and wholesale lines of business.


Steve Lockington

Executive Vice President

Steve Lockington leads the team responsible for program management. He joined Real Matters in 2008 and has held various progressively senior roles, including operations, product development and acquisition integration. Mr. Lockington was instrumental in building Solidifi’s U.S. product offering and operations. Prior to joining Real Matters, Mr. Lockington worked in the real estate industry. He holds an honors Bachelor of Commerce Degree from McMaster University.


Kim Montgomery

Executive Vice President

Kim Montgomery leads the team responsible for extending Real Matters core network management capabilities across new product verticals and aligning acquisitions. She joined the company in 2008 and was instrumental in building Solidifi’s U.S. operations.

With more than 14 years of experience in the mortgage lending industry, Kim has a proven track record of identifying and implementing new business practices and delivering high growth. Her diverse background includes leadership positions in sales, operations and compliance, and managing large teams across multiple geographies.

Prior to joining Real Matters, Kim held a number of progressively senior roles for one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organizations, including leading the bank’s virtual mortgage lending channel in Canada.

Ryan Smith

Ryan Smith

Chief Technology Officer

Ryan Smith is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Solidifi and is responsible for creating the company’s overall vision for technology. Solidifi’s technology platform has become the industry leader in delivering next generation property information and appraisal solutions that enable our clients and partners to succeed.

Ryan joined Solidifi in 2006 bringing a wealth of experience in driving high growth cross-company engineering initiatives and collaboration strategies to deliver mission critical business solutions.

Throughout his 18-year career in the financial services technology sector, Ryan has gained tremendous experience in building successful technology solutions for the North American mortgage industry in real estate collateral assessment and mortgage processing. Prior to his role at Solidifi, Ryan held various executive positions in private and public organizations including Basis100, one of the largest publicly-traded technology providers to the mortgage banking industry worldwide.


Kevin Walton

Executive Vice President Corporate Development

Kevin is responsible for Solidifi’s global growth strategy, including acquisitions and partnerships across numerous market verticals, and was instrumental in leading the growth of Solidifi’s early operations in 2007.

Kevin’s industry experience spans over 14 years, spending nearly 6 years with a global property information services company before joining Solidifi. There, he was responsible for developing strategic partnerships, corporate strategy, and acquisitions across North America and Europe, and was instrumental in the development of one of the first data-based guaranteed valuation solutions in North America.

Prior to entering the mortgage services space, Kevin spent nearly two years in venture capital and merchant banking.


Craig Rowsell

Executive Vice President, Program Management

Craig Rowsell has over 17 years’ experience in helping build and deliver technology solutions for the mortgage industry. In his capacity as EVP, Program Management Craig has direct responsibility for Solidifi Operations and Program Management team. Craig joined Solidifi in January of 2014.

Craig’s industry experience includes various leadership roles in the mortgage processing and collateral management industry. During his career, Craig has been responsible for helping to build and deploy a national AVM, third party risk management solutions, mortgage collection platform and appraisal management solutions. Craig’s industry experience includes leadership positions in e-services, a national collateral management company and a national title company. While in these roles, Craig was instrumental in delivering solutions to large institutional customers, forming strategic partnerships, driving operational excellence, leading corporate strategy, expanding core businesses into international markets and building new products and services.
